Markus Hurd

Markus Hurd is an Associate at BranchPattern. Markus previously worked as a Computer Aided Design Drafter at Western Industrial Contractors from October 2020 to May 2021. Prior to that, they were a Lead CAD Engineer and Lead Financial Manager at Zimmer Biomet from September 2019 to June 2020, where they cooperated with 4 senior engineering students from multiple disciplines to research and develop a medical load sensing trialing device used for the implantation of Mobi-C cervical total disc arthroplasty device. The device allowed for the distraction of the disc space with built in load sensing to determine ideal size for final implant. Markus communicated with representatives from Zimmer Biomet to ensure device meets industry standards and individually managed the project budget to keep all costs under budget of $10,000. Markus Hurd began their career as an Intern at PN Hoffman from June 2018 to August 2018.

Markus Hurd attended the University of Denver, where they earned a Bachelor of Engineering in mechanical engineering.
