Footwear And Accessories Designer at Brand Collective

Derek John Yuen has extensive experience as a footwear designer, working with various companies throughout their career. In 1992, they joined XBlades, where they played a crucial role in designing the brand's football boots and establishing its brand identity. Derek John then moved on to Globe International Ltd., where they served as a Senior Footwear Designer for over two decades, leading the design of the global footwear range. In 2019, they joined DJY Footwear Design as a Freelance Footwear Designer. Derek John later worked with Ryderwear as a Footwear and Accessories Designer from December 2019 to March 2021. In 2020, they also worked briefly with Designworks Clothing Company Pty Ltd as a Footwear and Accessories Designer. Currently, Derek is working as a Footwear and Accessories Designer with Brand Collective, specifically for the Volley brand, since August 2020. Additionally, they joined Rollie Nation in February 2021 as a Footwear Designer, focusing on the brand's Summer 2022 and Winter 2022 footwear collections. Throughout their career, Derek has collaborated with various brands and worked closely with teams to bring innovative footwear designs to market.

Derek John Yuen attended RMIT University from 1997 to 1998, where they earned an Advanced Diploma in Electronic Design and Interactive Media. Additionally, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Industrial Design from the same institution, although the specific start and end years are unknown. Furthermore, Derek participated in a short course offered by RMIT University, focusing on Introduction to shoe making, although the duration of this course is also unknown.
