Meredith Ainbinder

Chief of Staff & Senior Advisor to the President at Brandeis University

Meredith Ainbinder is the chief of staff and senior advisor to President Ron Liebowitz. In her role, she provides strategic and analytical support for the president, prioritizes the office’s responses and actions, and supports the university-wide strategic-planning process.

Ainbinder previously served as vice president and general counsel at Emerson College, where she acted as the chief legal officer for the institution and provided legal guidance and direction on governance, risk management, and institutional priorities, among other areas directly relevant to higher education. Before her time at Emerson, she held a number of roles and leadership positions in the legal field, including as a partner in the litigation group of intellectual property boutique Sunstein, LLP and as senior in-house litigation counsel at Osram Sylvania.

Ainbinder earned a BA from Brown University and a JD from Boston College Law School, and she was a member of the Board of Directors of the Women’s Bar Association of Massachusetts for more than a decade.
