Additionally, Gustavo has held board member roles at Da Mata S/A Açúcar e Álcool, Dufry do Brasil Duty Free Shop, and Loungerie S.A. Gustavo has also served as a director/board member at Sobratema, the Brazilian Association of Technology for Construction and Mining. Prior to these roles, Gustavo worked at Caterpillar Inc., where they held various managerial positions in the mining business, including Head of Commercial, Mining - South America. Gustavo also had experience at Distribuidora Cummins Minas Ltda and FCA Fiat Chrysler Automobiles.

Gustavo Avelar V Rodrigues has a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from PUC Minas, which was earned from 1998 to 2003.
