Thiago Faheina Chaves

Thiago Faheina Chaves is a Researcher Specialist I at Braskem, focusing on the development of processes for the Biomass to Chemicals Platform, including biomass fractionation and C6 and C5 sugars valorization. Previously, Thiago served as a Senior Researcher Scientist at Solvay, leading research and innovation projects in chemical synthesis and biomass valorization, as well as supporting industrial chemistry for various chemical products. Thiago also worked as an Assistente de Pesquisa at Braskem, where responsibilities included catalyst evaluation and hydrogenation reaction studies. Academic credentials include a PostDoc in zeolite synthesis from the Instituto de Catálise y Petroleoquímica and a Ph.D. in heterogeneous catalysis from Universidade Federal de São Carlos, complemented by a master’s degree and an undergraduate degree in chemistry.
