Ashley Womble has over fifteen years of experience in the marketing and communications industry. Ashley began their career in 2005 as an Editorial Assistant at Time Inc., where they researched and wrote articles and a monthly column covering gardening, entomology, and home-improvement news and trends for This Old House Magazine. In 2006, they were promoted to Associate Editor at Harris Publications, where they worked directly with the Editor in Chief from conception to publication of four special-interest publications. In 2007, they joined Hearst as a Senior Editor, becoming the second digital hire for Cosmopolitan and responsible for conceptualizing the print magazine as a digital brand. In 2011, they became the Marketing and Communications Director at Vibrant Emotional Health, where they oversaw communications, digital marketing, and public relations for SAMHSA-funded national grant programs. In 2014, they were appointed Communications Director at Fountain House, where they managed external affairs, including communications, public relations, and digital fundraising. In 2016, they were promoted to Marketing and Business Development Director at Phoenix House, where they directed corporate and crisis communications and business development. In 2018, they joined Crisis Text Line as Vice President of Public Affairs and Head of Communications, responsible for marketing and growth of the organization. In 2021, they became Principal at Psyched Group, a strategic marketing and communications agency with mental health in mind. Finally, in 2022, they were appointed Director of Marketing and Partner Engagement at Brave Health.
Ashley Womble holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the CUNY Graduate School of Public Health and Health Policy, where they studied Health Policy and Management. Ashley also holds a BA in Journalism from the University of North Texas. In February 2021, Ashley obtained a Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C) certification from Postpartum Support International. Ashley is also in the process of obtaining an Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) certification from LivingWorks.
