Richard Brace has a diverse work experience. Richard started as a Student Assistant at Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences from March 2013 to September 2015. In 2014, they undertook an internship in Systems Engineering at ND SatCom for six months. From October 2015 to April 2018, Richard worked as a Scientific Assistant and later as a Lecturer in Semiconductor Circuits and Digital Signal Processing at the University of Applied Sciences, Karlsruhe. In May 2018, they joined BRC Solar GmbH as the Head of the Engineering Department.

Richard Brace completed their Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology from the Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences, where they studied from 2012 to 2015. Richard then pursued their Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in the same field at the same institution, graduating in 2018.

A shaded PV module generates less current than unshaded. Due to the series connection this would reduce the current of the whole strand. Therefore, shaded PV modules are bridged during the period of shading. The unshaded will not be slowed down any further. However, the bridged modules no longer generate energy during shading. A long-lastingshading also ensures that modules can be destroyed.
