Eleanor Akers

Eleanor Akers has a diverse work experience that spans various industries. Eleanor founded Innovative Energy Consultants in 2021, where they help companies navigate the Energy Transition. Prior to that, they worked as a Partnership Development and Commercialization Manager at Breakerbox, where they built partnerships with energy suppliers and commercialized referral models. From 2019 to 2021, Eleanor worked at Constellation, first as a Partnership Development & Commercialization Manager, supporting the commercialization of a platform, and then as a Strategic Partnership Development and Commercialization MBA Intern. Eleanor also gained experience as a Research Assistant at The Johns Hopkins University - Carey Business School, where they researched and provided guidance on personal finance for medical professionals. Before that, they interned as a Distributed Energy MBA Intern at Constellation. Eleanor's earlier experience includes working as a Process Safety Engineer at INEOS and BP, as well as an Environmental Engineer at ExxonMobil. Eleanor also worked as a self-employed Language Teacher for several years. Overall, Eleanor has a strong background in energy, partnership development, commercialization, research, and engineering.

Eleanor Akers completed their A-levels and IGCSE at Runnymede College in 2009. Eleanor then pursued a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Chemical Engineering with Industrial Experience at The University of Manchester from 2009 to 2013. After several years of professional experience, they enrolled at The Johns Hopkins University - Carey Business School and obtained their Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Global MBA from 2018 to 2020. In terms of additional certifications, Eleanor obtained their Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certification from TtMadrid TEFL Certification Course in August 2007. Eleanor also completed the Amine Treating Training from Sulphur Experts Inc. in October 2014. Eleanor obtained the Chartered Engineer designation from the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) in November 2017. Additionally, they acquired The Data Scientist's Toolbox certification from Coursera in September 2019 and the R Programming certification, also from Coursera, in December 2020. Eleanor is scheduled to complete the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) for Chemical Engineers certification from the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) in February 2023.
