Breakthrough Central Texas
Michael Griffith has been with Breakthrough Central Texas since July 2008, serving as the Executive Director and Director of Programs. Prior to that, Michael worked as a Teacher at Austin ISD and CIS Hong Kong from August 2000 to July 2008. Michael holds a Master of Education from Texas State University and a Bachelor's degree in History and Spanish from The University of Texas at Austin.

Breakthrough Central Texas
In Central Texas, only 8% of middle school students from low-income communities will go on to earn a college degree. To combat this inequity, Breakthrough makes a 12-year commitment to help children become the first in their families to graduate from college. Our program focuses on a combination of extended learning, comprehensive advising, and leadership experiences to help students prepare for, persist through, and ultimately, graduate from college. From middle school to high school to college through college graduation, we are there every step of the way. In 2018, Breakthrough will serve more than 1,650 students in Central Texas.
