Meredith Zackey has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations and roles. Meredith started their career in 2007 as a Corps Member and later became a Service Leader at City Year of Greater Philadelphia. From 2009 to 2011, they worked at Breakthrough of Greater Philadelphia in various roles, including Special Projects Coordinator, Dean of Students, and Middle School Program Assistant. Meredith then worked as a Research Assistant at Georgetown Public Policy Institute in 2012 and as a Policy and Advocacy Intern at Alliance for Excellent Education. Meredith also interned at Grantmakers in Aging during that year. In 2013, Meredith worked as a Coordinator of Principal Effectiveness at District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS). Meredith later became a Research Assistant at Georgetown Public Policy Institute, where they supported Professor Rom's research on sex education policies. From 2014 to 2016, they served as the Program Director at Breakthrough Manchester at The Derryfield School. Meredith then joined Breakthrough of Greater Philadelphia as the Co-Site Manager/Dean of Faculty in 2014. Meredith moved on to become the Director of Middle School Programs at Breakthrough Collaborative from 2016 to 2019, where they played a key role in program improvement and strategic planning. Meredith then took on the role of Senior Director of Programs and subsequently Senior Director of Program Success at Breakthrough Collaborative, where they led the transition to virtual programming and supported the affiliates in program execution, grant applications, and reporting. Throughout their career, Meredith has demonstrated their commitment to education and program development.
Meredith Zackey completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Comparative Literature at Haverford College from 2003 to 2007. Subsequently, they pursued a Master of Public Policy (M.P.P) with a focus on Education Policy at Georgetown University Public Policy Institute from 2011 to 2013.
