Ian Smart is an experienced electrical engineer with a robust background in medical device development and engineering consulting. Since August 2016, Ian has been contributing to Human Design Medical, LLC, focusing on high-quality breathing devices. Prior to this role, Ian worked at DPI / KaVo Kerr Group from August 2010 to December 2015, where involvement in a remote R&D group allowed for growth in core competencies and experience in complex medical device development. Ian also served as Principal Engineer and Project Manager at Lumen Laboratories from November 2000 to December 2009, providing engineering consulting and product design for various industries. Earlier in the career, Ian worked as a Customer Service and Manufacturing Engineer at GSI Group from November 1993 to November 2000, where significant improvements were made to product reliability and production processes. Ian holds a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, earned between 1989 and 1993.
