Yan Z.

Yan Z. has a comprehensive work history that spans several industries and roles. In 2019, Yan co-founded Breathe Battery Technologies and served as the CTO. In 2020, Yan became an Enterprise Fellow at the Royal Academy of Engineering. Prior to this, from 2016 to 2019, Yan worked as a Consultant at Imperial Consultants (ICON). From 2015 to 2019, Yan pursued a PhD in Battery Engineering at Imperial College London, during which they developed modeling tools and methodologies to enhance cell performance. Yan's PhD research led to the publication of over 10 peer-reviewed journal papers. Additionally, Yan held the position of Research Assistant at Imperial College London from 2018 to 2019. In 2013, Yan served as the Battery System Lead & Team Principle for the Imperial Racing Green ZEPHiR team. Yan's work experience also includes being an Undergraduate Researcher at Imperial College London in 2014, an R&D Industrial Placement at Caterpillar Inc. from 2012 to 2013, and an Internship at China Petroleum in 2011.

Yan Z. pursued an A Level degree from Northampton Grammar School between the years 2008 and 2010. Following this, Yan Z. attended Imperial College London from 2010 to 2015, where they completed a Master of Engineering with one year in industry (MEng) in the field of Mechanical Engineering. Yan Z. furthered their education at Imperial College London from 2015 to 2019, obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Battery Engineering.
