Ian Smith

Ian Smith is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the construction materials industry, currently serving as Managing Director for GB Cement & Products at Breedon Group plc since March 2021, where full P&L responsibility encompasses both the Cement and Products divisions. Previously, Ian held the position of Director of Business Excellence at Aggregate Industries UK, overseeing operational support across multiple product lines, and also served as Group Vice President for Manufacturing at LafargeHolcim, managing aggregates performance across over 20 countries. Ian's career began at Tarmac and includes significant roles at CEMEX and LafargeHolcim in the U.S., culminating in comprehensive P&L management across various regions. Ian holds a BA in Geography/Environmental Science from UCLA and an MBA from the University of Denver, with further education from INSEAD.
