Sam has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Sam began their career as an Auditor at Nexia Edwards Marshall, where they focused on performing statutory financial audits and reviews of internal control systems. Sam then joined PepsiCo Australia and New Zealand as an Operations Finance Analyst, where they provided management accounting functions and played a key role in the implementation of the CAPEX module in SAP.
Sam then moved to Qantas Airways, where they held two roles. As a Senior Financial Analyst, they performed financial modeling for the strategic review of the Catering division and led a project to simplify and centralize the annual budgeting process. Later, as a Business Transformation Analyst, they partnered with various departments to drive strategic change and optimize commercial outcomes.
After Qantas, Sam joined Fuji Xerox Australia as a Commercial Manager for the Channels business. Sam led long-term financial planning, implemented a digitalized deal review and approval process, generated monthly sales and business reporting, and managed a team of analysts.
Most recently, Sam worked at Upside Business Group as the Founder, where they likely played a key role in the strategic direction and overall management of the company.
In 2019, Sam joined Breef as the Finance & Strategy Director, where they are currently responsible for financial and strategic oversight of the company.
Sam W. completed their Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Adelaide, graduating in 2008. They pursued further education in the field and obtained a Graduate Diploma in Accounting and Business/Management from Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, completing this program from 2009 to 2011. Additionally, in January 2011, Sam W. attained the title of Chartered Accountant from the same institution. In March 2016, they also completed the WorkflowMax Advisor course offered by WorkflowMax (A Xero Product).
