Alok Mehta, PhD

Alok Mehta, PhD has over 10 years of work experience in the field of photonics. In 2018, they began working as the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technology Officer at BRELYON. Before that, they worked at Ziva Corporation from 2007 to 2018 in various roles. Alok was the Principal Research Scientist in Photonics, Senior Research Scientist, and Research Scientist. As a Senior Research Scientist, they were the Senior Technical Team Lead for a Programmable, Integrated Planar Lightwave circuit (FIR-filter) for High Speed, Secure Fiber Optic Communication System funded by DARPA BAA Program POLKA. Alok was also the Technical Lead for the DARPA/ARL Program OI-2, successfully delivering prototype transceiver/receiver modules operating at 2.5 Gbps/channel to the customer.

Alok Mehta obtained their Bachelor of Science in Optical Engineering from the University of Arizona between 1996 and 2001. Alok then went on to pursue a Master's degree in Optics/Optical Sciences from the University of Central Florida from 2001 to 2003. Finally, they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Optics/Optical Sciences from the University of Central Florida in 2007.
