Gianfelice Rocca is Chairman of the Techint Group, which includes the companies Tenaris, Ternium, Tenova, Techint E&C, Tecpetrol, and Humanitas. A recognized global leader in the iron and steel, energy, and infrastructure sectors, last year the Group reported annual revenues of 18.5 billion dollars and a headcount of approximately 55,400.
In the 1990s, he founded the Humanitas Clinical Institute, a general hospital among the most renowned in Europe: an international center of research, teaching, and case management at Harvard University.
From June 2013 to June 2017, he was President of Assolombarda, the largest territorial association of entrepreneurs in Italy.
For eight years — from May 2004 to May 2012 — he was Vice President of Confindustria in charge of Education, and from June 2012 to June 2016 he was a member of the Executive Board of EIT (the European Institute of Innovation and Technology). He is currently an honorary member of the Italian Institute of Technology and sits on the Scientific Committee of the Milan Polytechnic Foundation.
