Karen Bolton, Ed.D, serves as a School Board Member for the Bremerton School District since December 2019 and is a Doctoral Program Committee Member at UMass Global. Additionally, Bolton has been an Adjunct Professor at Brandman University since September 2018, teaching graduate-level courses in Organizational Leadership. Previous experience includes membership in the City of Bremerton's Race, Equity and Advisory Committee and a Leadership Training Specialist role at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. With a background as a Professor at Olympic College, Bolton has developed and oversaw multiple courses in Organizational Leadership and led initiatives as the Director for Guided Pathways. Bolton's extensive career in education and training is complemented by time with Vincennes University and as a Non-Commissioned Officer in the United States Navy. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership, a Master's Degree in Organizational Leadership, and a Bachelor's Degree in Workforce Education and Development, along with additional certifications in diversity, inclusion, and project management.
