Debra Dobkins is Interim Vice President for Student Services and Dean of The Women’s College at Brenau University, a position she has held since 2012. Joining the university in 1998, she has also served as a professor of English and the founding director of Brenau’s Writing Center. Overseeing nearly 1,000 residential and nonresidential students, Dobkins is tasked with continuing the Women’s College liberal arts education, with a rich history dating back to 1878. As an Irene K. Woodruff Scholar, she earned a bachelor’s degree in English and a Master of Arts in Teaching English from Agnes Scott College before completing a Ph.D. in language and literacy education at the University of Georgia.
