Jennifer Katona

Jennifer Katona has extensive experience in environmental education and wildlife conservation, currently serving as an Education Specialist and Zoo Teen Coordinator at Brevard Zoo since August 2012. In this role, Jennifer manages a competitive volunteer program for local youth, overseeing applications, interviews, training, and conservation opportunities. Additionally, Jennifer coordinates athletic events as the Expo Coordinator for Smooth Running, LLC, since January 2016. Previously, Jennifer contributed as a Volunteer Editor for the Florida Marine Science Educators Association from March 2015 to March 2020 and worked as a Tour Guide for Funday Ecotours from February 2012 to May 2015, leading various wildlife tours. Early career experience includes a Winter Internship/Research Assistant role at the Marine Biological Laboratory in 2011, focusing on animal husbandry and sustainable aquaculture research. Jennifer holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Education from Miami University and a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology from the Florida Institute of Technology.
