Gil Roberts

Gil Roberts is currently Partner & Director of Operations at Brick Bridge Consulting. Prior to that, they were Executive Director at LHOME from February 2015 to November 2016. Gil created a CDFI specifically providing funding for targeted low-to-moderate income, immigrant, and refugee owned businesses within the Louisville, KY community. Gil also formed a Board of Directors that met the US Treasury requirements for CDFI certification to assess mission-based opportunities and banking products.

During their time at LHOME, Gil contracted and worked with industry-leading consultants Friedman & Associates to establish objectives, work plans, and infrastructure for CDFI banking operations. Gil conducted preliminary market analysis and other research necessary to complete the planning and US Treasury CDGI Grant process. Additionally, Gil began developing initial relationships with bank investors to secure capital resources for both loan pool and operations. Gil also managed day-to-day bank marketing and operations, as well as formed and facilitated the work of the Loan Committees responsible for oversight of the lending program.

Some of Gil's accomplishments include originating the first two micro-business loans from the LHOME Loan Pool totaling $8,000, creating operating guidelines of all banking procedures such as the identification of borrowers, loan underwriting, social impact assessments and reporting, structuring of the loan products, closing paperwork, loan servicing, and collections. Gil also wrote, and won, an development and operations grant from the US Treasury of $125k. Furthermore, Gil prepared copy and communication materials for website and other publications. Lastly, they represented LHOME at the 2016 CDFI Conference in Memphis, TN at the St. Louis Federal Reserve’s request.
