Tommy Romano

VP, Engineering at BridgeComm

Tommy Romano is the current Vice President of Engineering at BridgeComm. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Space Systems Engineering at General Atomics from August 2019 to October 2021. Before that, they were the Deputy Chief Systems Engineer/Group Leader at Harris Corporation from January 2018 to August 2019.

Tommy's career began at Infinite Harvest, Inc., where they served as the CEO/Director/Founder/Engineering Manager from September 2013 to October 2017. During their time there, they led a team of 20 people in initiatives to run and grow the business. Tommy also managed daily finances, directed regular status meetings for the Board of Directors, and performed presentations to various investors and investment groups for fund raising.

As Engineering Manager, Tommy developed a vertical farm facility that could produce the equivalent of 15 acres of lettuce annually in only 1/10 of an acre foot print. Tommy managed project schedules, cost, engineering trade studies and software and MEP engineering teams. Tommy also defined system requirements and specifications for the entire project, developed and tested circuit designs for custom LED grow light fixtures, and designed a fully integrated building management software system to monitor and control the vertical farm with autonomous fault detection and handling.

Tommy Romano has a MS in Aerospace Engineering Sciences - Bioastronautics from the University of Colorado Boulder and a BS in Aerospace Engineering from San Jose State University. Tommy also has a certification from the Federal Aviation Administration in Commericial Pilot - Single Engine, Complex, High Performance, Mtn Cert. w/ Instrument Rating and another certification from the Federal Aviation Administration in Private Pilot - Helicopter, Piston.
