Porter Diehl

Porter joined Bridgewater in 2009. As Lead of Portfolio Analytics, he and his team work closely with our CIOs to evolve our portfolio construction process, evaluating and managing investment risks, and designing investment strategies for clients. His work has included evolving our risk controls and event risk strategy, researching how to best combine beta and alpha, and systemizing our portfolio construction and trade generation logic. Porter is also a member of the firm's Commercial and Business Strategy Committee and a Partner.

Porter holds an AB in Economics from Dartmouth College, where he won the Haney Prize for best undergraduate economics thesis for his research on the effectiveness of SEC regulations at moderating investment analyst bias. He is also a member of the Economic Studies Council at Brookings.
