Eric Engleson

Special Education Instructional Assistant at Bridgeway - Academy & Therapy Center

Eric Engleson has extensive experience in recreational therapy and special education, currently serving as a Special Recreation Leader and Program Assistant at NEDSRA since January 2015. In this role, Eric provides adaptive recreational opportunities for individuals of all ages with disabilities, coaching various Special Olympics sports and leading therapeutic activities. Concurrently, Eric works as a Special Education Instructional Assistant at the Helping Hands Center for Special Needs, supporting students with autism in academic and life skills. Previous positions include Special Education Academic Coach and Recreation Aide at Options Transitions for Independence, Recreation Specialist at Camp Little Giant, and various roles at Arlington Heights Park District, where Eric developed skills in swimming instruction and lifeguard management. Eric holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Therapeutic Recreation/Recreational Therapy from Southern Illinois University, completed in 2015.
