Rayaan Alem is a law student at the University of Birmingham, pursuing a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree until June 2026. Rayaan has gained significant experience through various roles, including serving as a Campus Ambassador at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and participating in programs with leading firms such as Herbert Smith Freehills and Allen & Overy. Rayaan is actively involved in initiatives focused on increasing diversity in the legal profession, including roles with Rare Recruitment, Aspiring Solicitors, and the Patchwork Foundation. Additionally, Rayaan is one of 50 participants in the SEO London City Solicitors Horizons Program, demonstrating a commitment to professional development and community engagement within the legal field.

Bridging Barriers is social mobility charity supporting young people aged 16-25 to achieve career success through mentoring, virtual masterclasses and networking events. With mentoring at the forefront of what we do, we give young people access to professionals who empower them with the soft and hard skills needed to thrive. Our virtual masterclasses and networking events complement the mentoring, allowing young people to build employment networks to strengthen access to opportunities.
