Jon Linford

Academic Vice President at Brigham Young University-Idaho

Jon Linford currently serves as academic vice president at Brigham Young University-Idaho.

Jon attended Ricks College and received a bachelor’s and master’s degree of music from Brigham Young University. He later earned a doctorate of musical arts from Arizona State University.

Prior to BYU-Idaho, Jon was a professor of voice and opera at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He later joined the BYU-Idaho Music Department teaching voice and opera. In 2010, he was invited to serve as the dean of Foundations and Interdisciplinary Studies and in 2015, as online vice president. He served in this role through February 2021.

As academic vice president, Jon has stewardship over Academic Administration, curriculum, college deans, and faculty.
