Marc Asher

Marc Asher has a strong background in software development and management positions. Marc is currently employed at Bright Energy AB, where they started in 2018. Their roles at Bright Energy AB include Engineering Manager, Mobile Application Manager, and Full-stack Development Leader.

Prior to joining Bright Energy AB, Marc founded a mobile app called fit-count in 2017. Marc served as the lead developer for the app, which incentivizes exercise through discounts on goods and services.

Before that, Marc worked at Thomson Reuters from 2011 to 2017. Marc held the role of Tech Lead and was responsible for various tasks such as product lead on back-end federated search software, development of front-end semantic web applications, research and prototyping of new applications, and providing expertise and advice to the business unit. Marc also managed a team of contractors in Belarus and supported legacy VB Com and ASP applications.

Marc's earlier positions include Senior Developer at Solcara Ltd from 2003 to 2011, Developer at Centauri from 2001 to 2003, and Technical Consultant/Developer at Spark Data Systems Limited from 1999 to 2000.

Marc Asher obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computing and Information Systems from the University of the West of England, which they pursued from 1997 to 2001. Prior to that, from 1995 to 1997, they attended East Berkshire College, where they earned a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree in Information Technology.
