John OBrien

John O'Brien has a diverse work experience spanning several decades. John began their career in 1979 at Hewlett-Packard, working as a systems engineer and later transitioning to sales. John then moved to Europe and the USA, gaining experience in network marketing and various systems divisions. After spending six years in the USA, they returned to Australia as part of the APAC Telecom team. In 1996, they started Genesys in Australia and served as the Managing Director. During their time at Genesys, they built a successful team and enjoyed their work. In 2002, they worked as the General Manager at GreenElectric before joining FrontRange Solutions in 2004 as the VP Asia Pacific. John held this role until 2013. In 2015, they became the Manager at Tripela Pty Ltd, where they worked alongside their business partner to develop the Ridge at Maleny. In 2017, they joined Cyara as an Account Executive and then moved on to Bright Pattern in the same year. At Bright Pattern, they served as the GM Asia Pacific and later became the General Manager for Australia and New Zealand.

John OBrien attended the University of Canberra from 1974 to 1976, where they obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Resource Management. Following their time at the University of Canberra, John enrolled in The Australian National University to pursue a degree in Economics Law, although it is unclear if they completed this program.
