Energy Engineer II at Bright Power

David Garza has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. David started their professional career in 2015 as a Field Energy Advisor for Simmitri and later Affordable Solar Roofs. In 2015, they also worked as an Energy Auditor for Simple Home Energy, Energineers, and Simmitri, where they also served as an Event Coordinator. In 2016, they interned as a Solar Engineering Intern at PV Complete and then worked as an Energy Auditor for ELEM3NTS. David joined Bright Power, Inc. in 2017 and has held various roles within the company. David started as a Project Support Specialist, supporting the California business unit in audits and retrofit installation work. David then transitioned to the role of Energy Technician, where they developed energy and water-saving projects, performed troubleshooting on underperforming projects, and took on additional OM&V responsibilities. Subsequently, they held the position of Project Engineer, which primarily involved project development, leading to the company's best year yet despite the challenges posed by COVID-19. David's most recent role at Bright Power, Inc. is Energy Engineer, where they continue to contribute their expertise in energy management and engineering.

David Garza attended Adrian C. Wilcox High School from 2007 to 2011. David then went on to study at San Jose State University from 2011 to 2016, earning a Bachelor's of Science degree in Environmental Studies with a focus on Energy.

In terms of certifications, David obtained several qualifications. In February 2015, they became a Building Analyst Professional from the Building Performance Institute, INC. In August 2016, they attained certification as a Certified HERS Rater from CalCERTS, Inc. Additionally, David gained certification as a Home Energy Score Rater from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in 2016. David also holds the HVAC Technician Certification EPA Clean Air Section 608, although the date of attainment is unknown.
