Mike Smith

Mike "Smitty" Smith has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Mike “Smitty” most recently worked as a Senior Sales Engineer at Brightcove, a leading global provider of cloud video solutions. Prior to this, they served as the VP of Engineering at start-up company MainStreaming, where they played a crucial role in expanding their product lines in the United States. Mike “Smitty” also held the position of Senior Sales Engineer at CDNetworks, supporting their content delivery network products.

Earlier in their career, Smith worked at Mirror Image DDN as the Director of Solutions Engineering and VP of Customer Experience, where they provided pre and post-sales support for their SaaS and IaaS offerings. Mike “Smitty” also managed a team of sales engineers.

Before that, Smith was the Manager of Digital Media at Educational Media Foundation K-LOVE & Air1 Media Networks, where they built and marketed their streaming platform and introduced new technologies. Mike “Smitty” also worked as an Information Technology Manager at iHeartMedia, where they improved technical operations and listener engagement. At both positions, Smith implemented innovative technologies and generated new revenue streams.

Smith's career began as a Computer Support Consultant and Field Services Technician at California State University, Chico, where they provided hardware and software support to faculty and staff.

Mike "Smitty" Smith attended California State University, Chico from 1997 to 2001, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Public Relations and Human Resources Management. Prior to that, from 1996 to 1997, they attended San Jose State University, focusing on Communication and Media Studies. In addition to their formal education, Smith obtained the Amateur Extra certification from the Federal Communications Commission in September 2002.
