Xiao Li Zhao has a diverse work experience spanning several years. They began their career in 2005 as an Analytical Consultant at Rights and Resources Initiative, where they led research on pathways to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. They effectively communicated with over 300 respondents from 64 countries and managed databases, analyzed survey responses, and identified countries for investment. From 2007 to 2013, Xiao Li worked as a Consultant at The World Bank, managing land-based meeting correspondence and coordinating meeting planning with various departments. They also tested data quality and cleaned data from numerous databases. Since 2013, Xiao Li has been with Brightfield, starting as a Data Analyst and progressing to the roles of Senior Data Analyst and eventually Senior Data Analyst, Technical Lead.

Xiao Li Zhao's education history begins in 1995 when they enrolled at The University of Hong Kong as a graduate student, majoring in Information Technology Project Management. They completed their studies in 1999.

From 1999 to 2003, Xiao Li Zhao attended the University of Georgia - Terry College of Business. Their area of focus was Business Administration, with an emphasis on International Business, Trade, and Tax Law.
