Luis Alfredo Contreras Vasquez has held a variety of positions in the field of data science and legal technology. In 2017, they began working as a Senior Data Scientist at Brightflag, where they developed deep learning models on Python with the use of Recurrent Neural Networks and Natural Language Processing techniques to make predictions of text data in legal documents. Luis Alfredo also developed predictive models on Python using Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning algorithms. In 2019, they were a Visiting Professor at the University of Minnesota Law School, where they designed and taught a series of lectures called Coding for Lawyers. In 2020, they became an Adjunct Professor at the same school, teaching a course on legal analytics in the digital age, machine learning, and natural language processing techniques. Prior to their work at Brightflag, they were a Substitute Lecturer at the Universidad José Antonio Páez, teaching Modern Control Theory to undergraduate students.
