William Leeds

William Leeds has worked in the data science field since 2012. William began their career as a Postdoctoral Scholar at The University of Chicago, where they developed statistical methodology for climate research. From 2014 to 2017, they worked at The Climate Corporation, where they held the roles of Data Science Manager, Customer Analytics and Machine Learning, Data Science Manager - Weather Science, and Data Scientist - Weather Science. During this time, they were responsible for leading teams in Customer Analytics and Data Science/Machine Learning Research and Development, as well as providing technical mentorship, recruiting, and establishing best practices. In 2017, they began working at Stitch Fix as a Data Scientist, and later moved to wellio as Director, Platform. At wellio, they were responsible for creating the organization structure for the data science and engineering teams, identifying key hiring needs, and managing and mentoring a co-located team. In 2021, they became Director of Data Science at Sendoso, and in 2022 they were appointed Head of Data Science at BrightHire.

William Leeds obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Truman State University between 2002 and 2006. William then continued their studies at the University of Missouri-Columbia, earning a Master of Arts in Statistics in 2009. William completed their education in 2012, receiving a Doctor of Philosophy in Statistics from the same university.
