Melissa Pavlovich

Melissa Pavlovich has a diverse and extensive work experience in tax-related roles. Melissa is currently serving as the Vice President and Head of Tax at Brighthouse Financial since July 2020. Prior to this, Melissa held the position of Vice President - Head of Tax Planning and Business Support at CVS Health from January 2019 to November 2019. Melissa played a crucial role in the development and implementation of CVS' overall tax strategy and provided tax advice on various business arrangements and M&A activities.

Melissa was also associated with Aetna, a CVS Health Company, for a significant period. From October 2017 to January 2019, they served as the Vice President, Tax/Chief Tax Officer, leading a team responsible for tax strategy, compliance, and tax accounting matters. Melissa oversaw an annual tax liability of approximately $2B and provided support for M&A activities. Prior to this, they held the role of Executive Director - Tax at Aetna from May 2003 to September 2017.

Melissa started their career at Ernst & Young as a Tax Senior Manager/Manager/Senior from November 1996 to April 2003. Before that, they worked as a Tax Senior at Arthur Andersen LLP from May 1994 to October 1996.

Melissa Pavlovich earned a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Hamilton College from 1990 to 1994. Melissa then pursued a Master's degree in Accounting from the University of Hartford from 1994 to 1995. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained a Certified Public Accountant certification from Connecticut in 1997 and completed the Executive Leadership Institute for Women at The Leader's Edge/Leaders By Design in 2019.
