Brighton Fire Dept/District in Rochester, NY

The Brighton Fire Department and Brighton Fire District serve portions of the Towns of Brighton and Pittsford in Monroe County, New York. Our district borders the City of Rochester to the northwest, Penfield to the northeast, East Rochester to the east, Pittsford to the southeast, and West Brighton to the southwest. Since 1925, BFD has had a "combination" staffing model where the benefits of a full-time staff of paid firefighters is "combined" with the benefits of a roster of 80+ volunteer firefighters. We are a role model organization for other fire departments seeking to deliver efficient, cost-effective fire rescue services in an urban/suburban setting with paid and volunteer first responders. The Brighton Fire Department, Inc. is always interested in hearing from members of our Rochester-area community who may be able to volunteer with us in one of the following roles: (A)Volunteer Firefighting; (B)Volunteer Scene Support; (C)Specific Administrative Support. Please contact us at join@brightonfd.org or 585-381-3200 or visit us at www.brightonfd.org/join to learn more. Please use 911 for emergency calls.
