Gareth Jones

Gareth Jones has worked in the software development industry since 2009. In 2009, they worked as a Graduate Software Developer at EADS, developing and maintaining specialist signal-generation software using C++, XML and Visual Basic, as well as designing and implementing a new company website. In 2010, they worked as a Java Developer at PayPoint.net, designing, implementing and maintaining fund reporting software and high-availability and high-throughput transaction processing systems for a major payment service provider. Gareth'skey skills included PHP, Java and MySQL, and they were also responsible for investigating, testing and replacing complex legacy systems. From 2012 to present, they have been employed as a Lead Software Engineer at Brightpearl, where their dual role involves PHP and Java development. Gareth'sduties include Zend MVC PHP front-end, Spring web services to MySQL back-end, a RESTful API in-between, and a healthy dose of ActiveMQ.

Gareth Jones attended Poole Grammar School from 1996 to 2002. In 2002, they began studying Computer Science at Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd and obtained a 2:2 degree in 2007. Jones has also obtained various certifications from LinkedIn, including Docker for Java Developers and Kubernetes: Native Tools in 2021, Diversity Recruiting in 2020, JMeter: Performance and Load Testing in 2020, Lightroom Classic CC Essential Training in 2020, Photography Foundations: Exposure (part 2) and Photography Foundations: Lenses in 2020, and React.js Essential Training in 2019.
