Haidy Sorial started their work experience at iHub: Innovation Hub in 2018 as a Summer Trainee, where they participated in embedded systems workshops using ATmega32 microcontroller, focusing on configuring digital i/o and timers. In 2019, they worked as a Schneider Automation Trainee at Schneider Electric, where they completed basic and advanced industrial automation training, with a focus on PLC basic digital and analog I/O. Haidy then joined ASU Racing Team in 2019 as a Project Coordinator for Formula Student UK Artificial Intelligence, responsible for communication between technical and non-technical teams, performing administrative functions, and ensuring adherence to the team's time plan. Haidy also served as a Member and Driver for the team participating in Shell Eco-marathon Asia, where they were involved in designing and manufacturing a fuel efficiency vehicle, specifically working on designing an intake manifold and conducting testing.
In 2020, Haidy became part of Schneider Electric again, this time as a Schenider SCADA Trainee, though their tenure ended in the same month. Haidy also joined ASU Racing Team in 2020 as a Member for Formula Student UK - Artificial Intelligence competition, where they contributed to building and developing the software architecture for a self-driving vehicle, working on sub-teams such as Perception, State Estimation, Path Planning, Navigation, and Software and Low Level Control.
From 2021 to 2021, Haidy worked at Autotronics Research Lab ARL as a Research Assistant, focusing on developing Level 4 Autonomous Vehicles using the Agile project management methodology, with a specific research focus on perception for urban autonomous driving. Currently, in 2022, Haidy is employed at Brightskies as an ADAS Algorithm Developer Engineer. Their responsibilities include developing autonomous driving vehicle algorithms based on object models constructed from vehicle multi-sensor data, designing software architecture and reusable software components/algorithms, and testing advanced driving assistance algorithms.
Haidy Sorial enrolled at Ain Shams University in 2017 and is currently in their sophomore year. Haidy is studying Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering. In addition to their formal education, Haidy has obtained several certifications. In 2018, they completed a certificate program on Embedded Systems from iHub: Innovation Hub. Haidy also received a certificate of achievement in Industrial Automation from Schneider Electric in 2019. Haidy participated in the Autonomous Design Robots program offered by ETH Zürich through edX in 2019. Haidy also completed the Self-Driving Cars Specialization on Coursera, which included courses such as Introduction to Self-Driving Cars, Neural Networks and Deep Learning, Visual Perception for Self-Driving Cars, and Motion Planning for Self-Driving Cars, all obtained in 2020. In 2021, they completed a course on Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter Tuning, Regularization, and Optimization, also on Coursera. Additionally, Haidy has obtained various other certificates related to their involvement with Formula Student UK, ASU Racing Team, and the Shell Eco-marathon.
