Doug King

Doug King has a diverse work experience in the field of cybersecurity and information security. Doug is currently serving as the Director - Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Services - Information Security Officer at Rappahannock Electric Cooperative since January 2024. Prior to this, they worked as the Director - Cyber & Information Security Officer at BrilliT from March 2022 to December 2023.

Before their role at BrilliT, Doug was associated with QOMPLX, Inc. where they held multiple positions including Vice President of Security Services from December 2021 to March 2022, Senior Director from April 2021 to December 2021, Director of Intelligence and Incident Response from September 2020 to April 2021, and Senior Cyber Solutions Architect from November 2019 to September 2020.

Furthermore, Doug also worked as a Mentor for SEC560: Network Penetration Testing and Ethical Hacking at SANS Institute from January 2019 to June 2020. Prior to this, they gained extensive experience at Lockheed Martin, starting as an Information Technology Support Analyst in October 2003 and progressing through various roles such as Systems Administrator, Systems Administrator Sr, Systems Administrator Staff, Technical Service Engineer Sr Staff, and Cyber Architect Sr Staff.

Doug's early career involved working as a Network Security Analyst at ACS Defense, Inc. from January 2002 to October 2003, and as a Network Support Analyst at General Dynamics from June 2000 to January 2002. Overall, their work experience highlights their expertise in cybersecurity, information security, and network support.

Doug King earned an Associate of Science degree in Computer Information Systems with Honors from Ashworth College in 2013. Doug is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance at Western Governors University, with an expected graduation year of 2023. In addition to their education, Doug has obtained multiple certifications, including GIAC Critical Controls Certification (GCCC), GIAC Security Leadership Certification (GSLC), GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH), GIAC Advisory Board membership, GIAC Certified Penetration Tester (GPEN), and Microsoft Certified Professional status.
