Sophie Mynott

Deputy Principal, Co-Curriculum at Brisbane Girls Grammar School

Ms Sophie Mynott is the Deputy Principal (Co-curriculum), and oversees the School’s sport, instrumental music, outdoor education, service, clubs and activities, debating, drama, travel, and Duke of Edinburgh Award programs.

Ms Mynott relocated from Sydney to join Brisbane Girls Grammar School in 2022. Her most recent role in Sydney was as the inaugural Director of Global Partnerships at Barker College, where she responsible for developing the School’s Indigenous education and intercultural understanding strategies, and for establishing two primary schools in partnership with First Nations communities.

With a lifelong passion for human rights and social justice, Ms Mynott has worked as a paralegal at the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda and her Master’s Degree thesis focused on miscarriages of justice in international criminal law. As a Humanities teacher, Ms Mynott shares her passion for social justice and engages students with contemporary societal issues.
