Elizabeth Jackson is an experienced museum professional currently serving as Vice President at the Briscoe Western Art Museum since February 2017, and as Museum Director and University Director of Development at Sul Ross State University - Museum of the Big Bend since September 2010. In these roles, Elizabeth manages day-to-day operations of a full-service cultural and historical museum while overseeing efforts to raise an annual operating budget of nearly $500,000. The Briscoe Western Art Museum preserves and interprets the art, history, and culture of the American West through engaging exhibitions, educational programs, and public events reflective of the region’s rich traditions and shared heritage. The adjacent Jack Guenther Pavilion and the McNutt Courtyard and Sculpture Garden are currently open for event rentals. The serene campus is located along the picturesque River Walk with elegant entrances on both Market Street and the River Walk. Many memorable events have taken place here from romantic outdoor weddings to state-of-the-art corporate conferences, meetings, luncheons, and cocktail parties.
