Jason Kirkland has extensive experience in the art and museum sectors, currently serving as the Director of Exhibitions, Collections & Education at Briscoe Western Art Museum since December 2018. Prior roles at the museum include Head of Exhibitions, Exhibition Manager, and Museum Preparator. Before this, Jason worked at the San Antonio Museum of Art as an Art Preparator and Lighting Technician. Jason's career also includes experience in production assistance with Bunim Murray Productions, corporate booking as an agent at William Morris Endeavor Entertainment, and administrative roles at William Morris Agency. Jason's early career involved gallery management at Z Gallerie and artist assistance at ArtPace. Jason holds a BFA in Fine Art from The University of Texas at San Antonio and previously studied Printmaking at Texas Tech University.

Briscoe Western Art Museum
The Briscoe Western Art Museum preserves and interprets the art, history, and culture of the American West through engaging exhibitions, educational programs, and public events reflective of the region’s rich traditions and shared heritage. The adjacent Jack Guenther Pavilion and the McNutt Courtyard and Sculpture Garden are currently open for event rentals. The serene campus is located along the picturesque River Walk with elegant entrances on both Market Street and the River Walk. Many memorable events have taken place here from romantic outdoor weddings to state-of-the-art corporate conferences, meetings, luncheons, and cocktail parties.
