Jerome Thomas is an experienced political figure and community leader currently serving as a Green Party Councillor for Clifton Ward at Bristol City Council since May 2024. Prior to this role, Jerome was the Founder and Chair of Metro Safety Group from December 1992 to December 2024 and served as a Green Party Councillor for Clifton Ward from May 2015 to May 2021. Jerome briefly pursued candidacy for Metro Mayor of the West of England Combined Authority with the Green Party in late 2020. Early career experiences include a position as a Community Development Worker at New Opportunities for Voluntary Action from 1986 to 1988 and as an Associate Consultant at Bain and Company from 1984 to 1986. Jerome holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from the University of Oxford, completed in 1984, and attended Chipping Campden School from 1973 to 1980.
