Vamsi Banda

Vamsi Banda has a strong background in advanced technology and natural language processing (NLP). Vamsi is currently the Director of Advanced Technology at Encyclopaedia Britannica, a position they have held since 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Five9 as a Senior Applied Scientist, NLP from January 2022 to December 2022. In that role, Vamsi led the AI Insights project, utilizing cutting-edge techniques to uncover reasons behind customer inquiries and categorize similar issues. Vamsi also worked with beta customers to improve the process through feedback. Before joining Five9, Vamsi worked at Encyclopaedia Britannica as a Senior NLP Engineer from November 2019 to January 2022. In this role, they created a neural contextual search functionality, incorporating custom trained models and hosting them on AWS. Vamsi has also worked as a Senior Technical Consultant at PROTEAM LLC from September 2015 to July 2018. Vamsi Banda holds a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree from Gayatri Vidya Parishad College of Engineering (Autonomous)//Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada, which they obtained between the years 2009 and 2013. Vamsi then pursued a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree at Lamar University from 2014 to 2015. Vamsi furthered their education by completing a Master of Science (MS) in Computer Science at Northwestern University from 2018 to 2020.
