Nick Kanopoulos has a long and varied work experience, starting in 1979 as a Research Assistant at Duke University. In 1981, they moved to Bendix Avionics as a Design Engineer at their LSI Design Center. From 1982 to 1987, they worked at RTI International in various roles, from Senior Research Engineer to Manager of the VLSI Design Group to Director of the Integrated Electronics Department. In 1987, they became an Adjunct Professor at Duke University. In 1995, they founded and became CEO of Data Communications Technologies, which was successfully acquired within three years. From 1998 to 2008, they were the Director of Telecommunications and Multimedia Division at Atmel Corporation. In 2007, they were a Special Environmental Technology Advisor for the Ministry of Macedonia and Thrace in Greece. From 2008 to 2013, they were Managing Director of Business Development for Europe, Africa, and the Middle East at Applied Materials. Finally, from 2010 to the present, they have been the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Brite Solar and the CEO and Supply Chain Manager of eConais Inc.
Nick Kanopoulos obtained their Electrical Engineering Diploma from the Univeristy of Patras in 1974-1979. Nick then went on to earn their Master of Science (MS) in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Duke University in 1979-1980. Finally, they received their Ph.D in Electrical and Computer Engineering/Microelectronics from Duke University in 1982-1984.
