Dr Sydney Tavern

Dr. Sydney Tavern is an accomplished R&D leader with extensive experience in the development of consumable products and innovative technologies. Currently serving as the Head of Consumable Discovery for New Categories at BAT since January 2013, Dr. Tavern oversees a team of approximately 150 experts across six centers of excellence, driving breakthroughs in consumable substrates and materials. Previous roles at BAT included leadership positions in consumables technology and next-generation products, as well as significant contributions in product development at Kimberly-Clark and Procter & Gamble. Dr. Tavern holds a PhD in Polymer Chemistry from the University of Aberdeen and a first-class honors degree from Edinburgh Napier University.
