Louise Jakobsen

Louise Jakobsen has served as the Browse Management Officer at the Zoological Society of London (ZSL) since transitioning from a Senior Keeper role in May 2006. With extensive experience in animal husbandry, Louise has worked across various sections including hoofstock, marine mammals, and record-keeping. In addition to overseeing the provision of browse for animals at both Whipsnade and London Zoos, Louise chairs the Giraffid Subgroup for the British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums (BIAZA), focusing on the review and improvement of giraffe husbandry practices in the UK and Ireland. Educational qualifications include an Advanced National Certificate in Managing Zoo Animals from Sparsholt College and ongoing studies at the Smithsonian-Mason School of Conservation.
