Darryll Shaw has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Darryll started their career as a Young Soldier in the British Army from May 1993 to August 1994. Darryll then worked as an Instructor at PGL Travel from February 1995 to October 1996, followed by a role as Chief Instructor at PGL Travel from April 1997 to October 1999. In 2000, they became the Activities Manager at Walesby Forest Activity Centre for a period of ten months. From January 2000 to July 2017, they served as the Director of their own company, www.darryllshaw.co.uk. In August 2009, they joined PGL Travel again, this time as the Activities Program Training Manager, Learning and Development, a position they held until July 2017. During this time, they also took on roles such as AIGL & Paddlesports Training Manager and Activity Manager. From July 2017 to February 2020, Darryll worked as the English Coaching Manager at British Canoeing. Darryll then became the Coaching and Partnership Manager from February 2020 to April 2022. Currently, they hold the position of Head of Coaching and Partnerships at British Canoeing starting in May 2022. Additionally, they have served as a Responsible Officer at Paddles Up Training from July 2017 to the present. Overall, Darryll Shaw has gained extensive experience in coaching, training management, and partnership roles throughout their career.

Darryll Shaw attended Henry Mellish from 1988 to 1993, where they studied Maths, English, Double Science, French, Art and Design Technology, and History. Darryll later attended Manchester College (MOL) from 2015 to 2018, where they obtained an Advanced Diploma in Human Resource Development at the CIPD Level 7.
