Gemma Wiggs has extensive work experience in event management and sports coordination. Gemma was the Head of Events & International Affairs at British Canoeing since February 2020, where they managed international events and representation strategies. Prior to this, they worked as the Events & International Affairs Manager at the same company, focusing on event bidding processes and supporting international teams. Before joining British Canoeing, Gemma held various roles managing venues and operations for sports events such as the School Games and Invictus Games. Gemma also has experience in managing competitions, including the badminton competition at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games and the Sitting Volleyball competition at the London 2012 Olympics. Gemma Wiggs started their career at Volleyball England as the National Competitions & Events Manager, organizing domestic and international volleyball events.

Gemma Wiggs attended Bromsgrove School from 1990 to 1999, where they obtained A Levels and GCSEs. Gemma then enrolled at Loughborough University from 1999 to 2002, and earned a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Geography. Later, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Management from Loughborough University, which they completed from 2002 to 2003.
