Majid Safahani

Majid Safahani is an experienced maritime professional with a career spanning several decades. Currently serving as Director of Operational Training and Senior Manager of the Simulation Training Center at BC Ferries since June 2011, Majid has played a key role in obtaining DNV-GL certification for the center and offering specialized training in Sperry VisionMaster ECDIS/Radar. Prior to this, a diverse career at IRISL Shipping Company included roles as Master Mariner, Senior Lecturer, and Head of the Deck Faculty at IRISL Maritime Training Institute from 1984 to 2010. Majid holds a Master’s degree in Maritime Operations from Liverpool John Moores University and a Master’s degree in Maritime Science from Antwerp Maritime Academy. Additionally, Majid completed the SkillSoft Leadership Advantage program from 2014 to 2015.
