Andrés Payo

Andrés Payo is a distinguished Principal Scientist at the British Geological Survey, specializing in coastal flooding and erosion resilience since August 2016. Payo's research focuses on innovative techniques to enhance societal resilience against geohazards in coastal environments. As the producer and host of the Coastal Geohazards Podcast, Payo engages audiences by discussing coastal risks and adaptation strategies. Previous roles include Coastal System Modeller at the University of Southampton and work at the University of Oxford as an iCOAST System Modeller. Payo's extensive research background is complemented by a PhD in Coastal Engineering from Universidad de Granada and a Post Doctoral Research Associate position at the University of Oxford.
