Keely Mills

Keely Mills serves as the BUFI Manager and Senior International Geoscientist at the British Geological Survey since October 2014, focusing on collaborative programmes with the FCDO and providing technical assistance to geological survey organizations. Mills has held multiple roles within BGS, including Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Lead and Senior Strategic Scientist during a two-year secondment, and Senior International Development Geoscientist, managing projects in Kenya related to the environmental impacts of gold mining. Further experience includes positions as Chair for Friends of Chetwynd Spencer Academy, member of the Scientific Steering Committee for Past Global Changes, Editor for Climate of the Past, and Treasurer for International Society for Diatom Research. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Geography/Palaeolimnology from Loughborough University, an MSc in Quaternary Science from Royal Holloway, University of London, and a BSc (Hons) in Physical Geography from Aberystwyth University.
